BLOOMINGTON, IN – City officials have agreed on terms for an aid package intended to address the increasingly concerning conditions in Gosport.

Gosport has seen systemic poverty and blight continue to increase at a pace that has nearby cities and counties alarmed about the issues spreading beyond the town limits.

Council President Sue Sgambelluri announced the passage of the robust assistance.

“This is Bloomington and we take care of those in need, especially our neighbors,” said Sgambelluri. “Gosportonians, please know that we have your backs and will do all we can to bring your wonderful town back to life.”

Residents of Gosport acknowledge the unfortunate conditions of their town and mostly welcome the funding.

“I’m a Gosport lifer,” said Earl Frank’s. “It’s sad to see how it looks today compared to when I was a kid.”

The aid will be sent immediately and Bloomington has pledged to accept and house an unlimited amount of refugees.
