BLOOMINGTON, IN – Students involved in the Libertarian Party at IU gathered in opposition of those studying at taxpayer funded institutions of higher learning, including themselves.

The Libertarians were critical of public colleges and universities interfering in the free market of post-secondary education.

“Enough is enough,” said IU Libertarian Jeremy Hinchcliffe. “I refuse to give my hard-earned money to a government-run university, even though I fully intend to complete my studies and proudly tout my IU degree to potential employers.”

IU Economics professor Peter Alexander explained that irony and cognitive dissonance are very common amongst those who identify as Libertarians.

“This is classic Libertarianism,” said Alexander. “Criticism of government services that are ultimately utilized by the critics is par for the course for Libertarians. I mean, Ayn Rand was on Social Security.”

The rally was cut short when several of the protesters had to leave for class.
